I joined an international energy event in Shenzhen, providing Chinese–French interpreting and on-site support for Francophone participants during a trade fair, company visits and business exchanges.

I was initially brought in for Chinese–French interpretation and communication support during the exhibition and company visits.

As the programme developed, my role expanded to include delegation coordination, company exchanges and an additional closed-door business meeting. Some meeting materials and agenda details were confirmed at short notice.

I supported communication throughout the assignment and adapted my preparation and coordination as schedules and meeting requirements changed, covering delegation visits, company exchanges and the additional closed-door session.

Chinese traditional theatre touring abroad needs multilingual surtitles ready before each performance, consistent with the staging and the performance schedule.

I was first brought in to translate the surtitles for a single production in one target language.

As the collaboration continued, more productions and target languages were added, and my role extended to post-editing, review, terminology and editorial consistency, and coordinating the translators working into the other languages.

I delivered the translation, review, post-editing and final surtitles for each production to the performance schedule, in English, German and Italian. What I handled varied by production — translation, review, post-editing, translator coordination and the final surtitle delivery.

Business engagements between China and French-speaking markets — investment discussions, company visits, trade fairs and business receptions. Each assignment was a separate project.

Chinese–French interpreting for a defined meeting, visit or trade fair, with the client's materials translated and terminology and background research completed beforehand.

One assignment also included translating a speech; a negotiation project led to a second on-site commission after the first.
